Garden Club of Nashville

This event is made possible through generous support from the
Garden Club of Nashville.

Join us for a restoration project along the Richland Creek Greenway behind the John E. Mayfield Library, Nashville! By removing harmful and invasive plants from riparian areas and streams, we’ll help restore thriving streamside habitats for Tennessee’s wildlife while safeguarding water quality. We’ll be lopping, pulling and carrying out invasive plants like Privet and Honeysuckle and learning more about how to be a life-long clean water advocate and river steward.

All necessary tools and equipment will be provided. Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, and weather appropriate clothing. And please bring your own water, nutrition and medications as needed. More detailed information will be sent to registered volunteers the week before the event.

Thank you for helping us protect clean water and rivers in Tennessee!

Accessibility: To access the area, there is a .5 mile walk one-way along a paved greenway. To access the plants, you may need to overcome small limbs and branches on the ground. Reaching, bending, and lifting up to 10 lbs. is to be expected for this event.
