Spotlight: Courtney Laginess, Board Chair

Courtney Laginess is Vice President, Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for WorldPay. He formerly was the Assistant General Counsel - Intellectual Property at Jacksonville-based FIS in July 2020. For five years, he was the Senior Counsel of Global Petcare at Mars Petcare in Franklin, TN. While at Mars Petcare, he became involved with Harpeth Conservancy, joining the Board in 2019. Prior to joining Mars Petcare, Laginess was a Trademarks and Licensing Attorney for Fruit of the Loom in Bowling Green, KY. He holds a J.D. from Regent University and a B.A. from Duke University.

Courtney lives near the Harpeth River in Franklin, TN. He has a passion for local conservation efforts, not only as a quality-of-life issue, but for the way those efforts can unite a community across all local demographics and socioeconomic backgrounds. He also serves on the Board of Saddle Up!, a local non-profit that offers therapeutic riding (equine) to children with mental and physical disabilities (also located on the Harpeth!). He is a cub scout and youth sports volunteer. In his spare time, he attempts to play tennis and hopes to get the ball over the net one of these days.
