ABOUT: Ever wonder what really happens at sewage treatment plants? This is your chance to go behind-the-scenes at the White’s Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, one of Middle Tennessee’s largest sewage treatment plants, to learn about how water contaminated by residential and commercial sewage is being cleaned and treated, Metro Nashville’s cost-efficient strategies, and the many challenges large- and- small scale sewage treatment plants encounter. Tennessee’s rivers and streams (no matter how large or small, how polluted or pristine, or how inundated by other dischargers in the area) are on the receiving end of wastewater treatment practices. Wildlife, human water consumption, and recreational uses are all impacted by our actions or lack thereof. We encourage you to join us and ask questions so you can become better informed and more impactful on matters concerning sewage treatment in your community and across Tennessee! Learn more here!
