Development & Events Internship | Summer 2025
Are you looking for a meaningful part-time internship? Harpeth Conservancy is looking for a Summer 2025 Development and Events intern who is interested in learning more about clean water protection and fundraising in the Greater Nashville area!
As a Development and Events Intern, you will work closely with our events team and development department to gain hands-on experience in event planning, logistics, and nonprofit operations. This is an excellent opportunity to build your resume while contributing to a cause that makes a difference. You’ll be involved in all stages of event preparation, from brainstorming ideas to executing successful events.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Development team with various projects and clerical duties
- Assist in the planning efforts of upcoming Harpeth Conservancy events
- Connect with existing and prospective sponsors
- Assist with writing and presenting donor/sponsor proposals
- Solicitation of in-kind goods and services
- Recruitment of volunteers
- Assist with organizing logistics for the event
- Pick up event items from sponsors and partners
- Perform data entry
- Assist onsite at the event with set up, event implementation, and tear down as needed
- Must be available on event date: River Swing | September 20, 2025
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Development or other HC staff to meet the needs of the organization
Desired Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Events Management, Non-Profit Management, Business Management, or a similar Field
- High attention to detail proven through accuracy
- Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Product Suite
- Well-developed writing and editing skills
- Highly organized and efficient
- Able to interact and communicate positively and reasonably with coworkers, volunteers, and donors
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible hours, working occasional nights and weekends as needed
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- This position will be completed in both an office environment and the outdoors
- Office work requires extended sitting or standing and the use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse
- Fieldwork for events may be performed outdoors in various weather conditions and may be physically demanding
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 40 lbs. is required
- Will be required to walk or stand for extended periods of time
